Rosalyn experienced her first Hatha yoga class in 2004. Suffering from chronic back pain caused by a car accident, she soon discovered that yoga provided a healthy alternative method to healing. Two years later she was introduced to Vinyasa yoga while participating in Baron Baptiste’s “40-Day Personal Revolution”, a program designed to challenge the mind and body to tap into unknown resources within oneself. During this 6-week program of daily yoga practice, meditation and healthy diet, Rosalyn developed the courage to stretch herself beyond imagination – physically, emotionally and spiritually. From this experience, she realized that yoga would become a lifelong practice and she wanted to share this gift with everyone.
Building on a foundation rooted in Vinyasa yoga, Rosalyn completed her 200-hour teacher training in Ashtanga yoga and began teaching in 2007. In 2009 she discovered Yin Yoga and found it to be the perfect complement and balance to the more active yang style practices. Her yoga style blends both a Yin sequence of long held passive poses, combined with an energetic flow influenced by Ashtanga and Vinyasa.
Rosalyn is currently certified as an E-RYT 500 yoga instructor. She hopes to continue her practice as a student and teacher who can uplift and empower fellow students to embrace their essence and nourish the wonderful possibilities that yoga creates within all of us.
